Sandy Brady, MPH
Health and Wellness Guide

“People are fed by the Food Industry, which pays no attention to health, and treated by the Health Industry, which pays no attention to food.” - Wendell Berry

Sandy received her certification in Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2016.  She is also a massage therapist who is licensed in both North Carolina and Florida, and she is a qualified MELT Method® instructor.

Sandy also holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from UNC-Chapel Hill and worked for many years in the global public health research sector. One of her interests was in the dynamics of behavior change, also known as the “Know-Do Gap”. Sandy recognized that nowhere was the gap between our intentions and our actions more evident than in our eating habits. There is so much emotional content around food; cultural, social and familial influences are often more powerful than health considerations. Ever changing and contradictory advice about what makes up a healthy – or unhealthy – diet contribute to our confusion. The food industry makes outrageous health claims and targets even the youngest children with marketing campaigns.

What are your health goals? What motivates you? Where do you look for information you trust? As your health and nutrition coach, Sandy will encourage you to identify small, initial steps you can take along the path to achieving your goals. She can also guide and support you through the challenging process of sorting through conflicting messages and separating fact from marketing.
